CHARACTER EDUCATION PROGRAMS BROUGHT TO YOUR SCHOOL

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of a wonderful opportunity for the children at your school.  Four years ago I started a Non Profit Organization called U-Grow Adventures, Inc. which specializes in character education programs for children that teach and reinforce the values of kindness, trust, respect, and responsibility.  As a Behavioral Specialist, I am bothered by the decline in our children's values as evidenced by the increase in juvenile crime, gangs, teen drug and alcohol addiction, teen-age pregnancy, zero tolerance policies in school, and school drop-out. These are no longer the problems which plague only ghettoes and inner city areas, but they have filtered into every American community including the elite suburbs. I am sure that you will agree that more must be done to instill and reinforce positive values in our children.

Children must be provided opportunities that will help them develop positive self-esteem and self-confidence, instill self-motivation, enhance academic success, and promote positive peer and adult interaction. My goal is to develop programs that are so unique and interesting that children are eager to listen and learn about values and how they relate to their lives.

U-Grow Adventures offers two character education programs that may be done separately or together at your school location.

"K9'S -4- KIDS"

This program is done outside on a grass area.  It is a large group presentation divided grades   K-2, 3 - 4, & 5 - 6. Approximately 200 to 250 children attend the presentation at one time.  The values of kindness, trust, respect, and responsibility are introduced and reinforced. The presenter stops at intervals during his presentation and trained Labrador Retrievers do a routine of tricks. The values presented are related to the training of the dogs and to children and successful family interaction, academic success, decision making, and appropriate peer interaction. The presentation ends with wand and juggling tricks. The concept of setting short and long term goals and the statement "never give up" are discussed in relation to the presenter learning to juggle and do wand tricks. 

"VERTICAL FUN"

"Vertical Fun" is an activity which is designed to increase positive self-talk, encourage setting of short and long term goals, develop self-confidence, and promote positive group interaction. "Vertical Fun", a 24' portable climbing wall with a realistic climbing surface utilizes a proven "Auto-Belay" device allowing three children to climb at once with unprecedented safety to the climber.  Three levels of difficulty allow the beginner to advanced climber to experience success.  Up to 180 students can climb in one day.  Additional days can be scheduled to accommodate all students.

"K9'S -4- KIDS" only ($1.00 / student - minimum $150.00  - maximum $500.00)       

"VERTICAL FUN" only ($2.00 / student) minimum $150.00 - no maximum)

"K9'S -4- KIDS" & "VERTICAL FUN" both ($1.00 / student - minimum $150.00 - maximum $500.00 for "K9'S -4- KIDS") and ($2.00 / child - minimum  $150.00 - no maximum for "VERTICAL FUN".)
