What is it.....

If your school is looking for a new and innovative way to raise funds, "CLIMB -4- SUCCESS" is your answer. "Climb -4- Success" is sponsored by U-Grow Adventures, a non-profit organization located in Williamson County, whose mission is to present and reinforce the values of kindness, trust, respect, and responsibility through diverse programs which compliment traditional education, the home, and community.

"Climb -4- Success" is a character education based program which will help your school raise funds and provide an opportunity for your students to set and accomplish goals, build self-confidence and positive self-esteem, and participate in positive group interaction.

HERE IS HOW "CLIMB -4- SUCCESS WORKS": Chad Mullin will bring his K9 friends, trained Labrador Retrievers, to present an assembly, "K9's -4- Kids".  This program introduces and reinforces the values of kindness, respect, trust, and responsibility.  Chad introduces the above values with the help of his K9 friends performing a routine of tricks.  He then relates the values to the training of his dogs and also relates the values to successful family interaction, academic success, and appropriate peer interaction. At the conclusion of his presentation, he explains how students may participate in "Climb -4- Success".  Several students are chosen to try their skill at climbing "Vertical Fun", a twenty four foot portable climbing wall with a realistic climbing surface and three levels of difficulty.

The day of the assembly, students will be given an envelope by their classroom teacher that explains they may set a goal of climbing "Vertical Fun" one time, two times, or three times. The number of times students climb is determined by the amount of money they raise through donations.  Students also receive prizes based upon the amount of money raised through donations. Students, with the help of their parents or guardians, then set their goal of one climb, two climbs, or three climbs.

Students then collect donations from family, friends, and relatives. A space is provided on the envelope for each donor's name, address, and amount of donation. Cash donations or checks payable to U-Grow Adventures are put in the envelope. Parents fill out the student information portion and sign the consent and release form.  Only students who turn in the consent and release form may participate in climbing "Vertical Fun"

On the designated dates students turn in their envelopes to classroom teachers.  Classroom teachers put all individual student's envelopes together, label them with their name (teacher's name) and turn them in to the office.

A designee from U-Grow Adventure will pick up the envelopes from the office. U-Grow Adventures will make all deposits, do all bookkeeping, and provide the school with a summary of all financial activity. U-Grow Adventures will determine the number of climbs and prizes for each child.

On designated days "Vertical Fun" will be brought to the school. Classrooms will assemble outside at their assigned times so that students may climb "Vertical Fun". U-Grow Adventures will have a master list of children by classes, how many times they climb, and the prizes that they will receive that day.  Teachers are asked to stay with their children during their climbing time. Each class will provide 3 volunteers to assist with putting on harnesses and hooking children up to the wall.

On the first day the children climb, the school will be presented a check equal to 70% of the total donations collected if prizes are given and 75% of the total donations collected if prize are not given.

U- Grow Adventures will work with your school or organization to modify this program to meet your need.

"K9-4-Kids can be done as a program by itself fot the cost of $1.25 per child with a maximum of $500.00 per school.
